The Collings D2H is widely regarded by guitar connoisseurs and professional players as the finest non-custom-built dreadnought acoustic guitar available at any price. Built by hand in Austin, Texas by Bill Collings and his team of master craftspeople, the D2H uses aged Adirondack spruce for the top — the same tonewood used in the original Golden Era Martins of the 1930s — and premium East Indian rosewood back and sides. The herringbone purfling, scalloped hand-carved Adirondack bracing, and bone nut and saddle are all fitted and finished to a standard that rivals the finest custom guitars available.
