The Gibson Firebird V is one of the most visually distinctive and sonically unique guitars in the entire Gibson catalogue, designed by automotive stylist Ray Dietrich in 1963 as a deliberate counterpart to the Fender Jazzmaster. The through-neck mahogany construction — where the neck wood runs the full length of the body — contributes exceptional sustain and resonance that set-neck and bolt-on designs cannot replicate. The banjo-style Kluson tuners on the angled headstock and the proprietary Mini-Humbucker pickups produce a bright, chimey, detailed tone unlike any other Gibson.
- Through-neck mahogany construction — exceptional sustain
- Reverse body design — angled headstock
- 2 x Mini-Humbucker pickups — bright, chimey tone
- Made in USA — Nashville, Tennessee
